Es Trenc is the most famous beach in southern Mallorca: almost three kilometres of white sand and turquoise water inside a protected natural area, with barely any buildings. How to get there by car
From Colònia de Sant Jordi it’s about 10 minutes by car. There are two main accesses: the main Es Trenc access (off the Campos–Colònia road, well signposted) and the Ses Covetes one, at the opposite end of the beach. The route is clear and easy even on a first visit.

Where to park (the important bit)
There are paid car parks in season (check the exact fare on site) by both accesses, plus an area about 1 km before. In summer they fill up early (usually full by mid-morning), so it pays to arrive early. There’s no longer a shuttle bus between the car park and the sand, so expect to walk from where you park. Bring some cash for parking.
What the beach is like
Es Trenc is almost 3 km of fine white sand with turquoise water and a very shallow entry, backed by a system of protected dunes. Being so long, the far ends (towards the salt flats or Ses Covetes) always have more space and calm than the central stretch. On the wilder sections nudism is common, though not required.
Services: few, come prepared
As a protected natural beach, it has very few services. By the main access is the Restaurant Es Trenc (front line, behind the dunes, with its own parking); at the Ses Covetes end you have Ran de Mar (fish and rice dishes) and a bar or two; and on the sand itself, small beach bars for a drink. Beyond that, nothing: bring water, cash, shade and something to eat, as there’s no natural shade on the beach.
Other ways to see it: by boat
If you go out by boat, you’ll see Es Trenc from the sea from a stunning angle — though, being protected, you can’t land; see renting a boat without a licence.

A local’s tips
Go early (before 10-11am in summer) or mid-afternoon; park as soon as you can; bring an umbrella, water and cash; and respect the dunes and the dry Posidonia on the shore, which is what keeps this so beautiful. If you want the same sand with fewer people, try the village beaches or the ends of Es Trenc.
