How to get to Es Caragol
The easiest way is by car: drive towards the Cap de ses Salines lighthouse, the southernmost point of the island, park at the end of the road and follow the path on foot for about 20 minutes to the beach. There’s no car access to the sand, and that’s what keeps it so unspoilt. Another option, for those keen to walk, is to arrive along the coast from the Es Trenc/Ses Salines area.
What the beach is like
And when you arrive, the reward: a long beach of fine white sand, turquoise, very clear water, with Posidonia meadows near the shore (good for snorkelling) and the silhouette of Cabrera on the horizon. Not a single building in sight. It’s one of those beaches that seem to belong somewhere else and yet are right here next to you.

The coastal walk
If you like walking, Es Caragol is part of the south’s coastal trail, linking the wild beaches from Colònia. It’s a flat walk but with no shade or facilities, so wear comfortable footwear, bring plenty of water and sun protection. Nearby on the same coast is the wild Cala Màrmols.
Es Caragol is a protected area with no facilities: no beach bar, no shade, no water. Bring everything you need, don’t step on the Posidonia and take your rubbish with you. Keeping it this unspoilt is up to all of us.
